Greetings ~

Back in the 1950s, I remember sitting on the sofa every Saturday around noon tuning into my favorite show on TV. The morning cartoons were okay, but the real fun came when the Three Stooges were on. At that time, I really didn't know that these short films were, at that time, around 30-years old. And I didn't know then that two of the Stooges had died. I was just enjoying these nuts going through their course.
Of course, my favorite was Curly. All the slapping, punching, eye poking and prate falls were just plain funny and, as a kid of six to nine years old, these guys made me laugh. Even then I knew it was all fake. We kids might try these acts on our friends but we didn't really poke anyone's eyes. We knew it was all in fun.
Years later I began learning about the Stooges' real lives. I found that it wasn't always funny for them. Both Curly and Shemp Howard died young. And Columbia Pictures really put the screws to them. So, like most regular people, I learned that the Stooges had tragedy and sad times as well.
On this blog we will discover the hard times as well as the good. What happened to them and how they were treated by Columbia Pictures. And there are plenty of photos of them on screen and behind the scenes.
So sit back, you knuckleheads, and enjoy the ride.
